Next week, we will launch a second Kickstarter campaign to pay for tour and publicity expenses.
If you want to reserve a copy of the film, this month will be your chance.
Why This Campaign
We are launching this campaign for reasons:
- Publicity & tour expenses. We need additional funds to make this release big. We need to hire a publicist (up to 10k on some films), book theaters and venues to screen in (around $500 each if we do a traditional theaters), travel to each stop on our tour (plane tickets or car rental), hire a someone to come with us and film… it adds up. And second…
- Popular demand. Since our first crowdfunding campaign, we’ve had hundreds of new followers, many of whom have emailed me and asked “I missed your first Kickstarter! How can I get a copy?!” If just the new people who’ve joined our email list and Facebook page backed us to claim a reward, we could pay for all our tour and publicity needs.
Goals
We’ve set a goal for significantly less than the first campaign. However, when it comes to publicity, there is no limit to the amount we could use.
Think about the amount of money poured into a major film release. It can take as much work and money to release a film as it does to make one. Our release will be as big as you all would like it to be. The more we have, the more we can use to get the word out about this movie.
Rewards
Right now, we will have many of the same rewards as our first campaign – digital download of the film, a screening package, a DVD, – and some new ones – like a Blu-Ray signed by the director, the soundtrack with the film.
What I’d love to know from you all is – what new rewards would you like to see on this crowdfunding campaign? Contact us here and let us know.
